Workers’ Day: Ihedioha Urges change of attitude, assures of improved condition.
Imo State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, has assured that the condition of workers in the state will receive priority attention in his government, even as he called for a change of attitude among workers.
Rt. Hon. Ihedioha made this known in his message of goodwill on this year’s May Day celebration.
He said, “let us use today to reflect on the state of our dear state,” noting that, “there is need to improve the condition of workers to ensure a motivated workforce”, adding that, “that is the only way we will achieve the rebuilding of our state.”
He stated that, “the engine room of government and development, no doubt are the workers. Therefore the welfare and efficiency of the workforce must be of utmost priority if we must make progress as a state, desirious of transformation”.
While congratulating workers on this year’s celebration, Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, declared that “the time has come to purge ourselves of tendencies that could stall the expected progress of our state.”
He also used the opportunity to reiterate his commitment towards ensuring an efficient civil service and a motivated workforce in the state.
