Remain close to God, Ihedioha urges Support groups

The Imo State Governor Elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has urged his support groups to remain close to God who made it possible for them to be celebrating today. He made this known during a thanksgiving service organized by the Leadership of His support groups, held at The Cathedral Of Transfiguration Of Our Lord, CATOL Owerri.

The Governor Elect thanked the support groups for their commitment and resilient spirit during the campaign period which according to him contributed immensely to his Victory at the March 9th Gubernatorial election.

Speaking further, He assured that He will remain committed to a New Imo where Local Government system will function autonomously, rule of law and order restored and most importantly, the Trinity of Government which guarantees independence to both the judicial and the legislative arms of Government maintained.

He expressed thanks to the entire Church of God, noting that He is very much aware that both the Anglican Communion, Roman Catholic community, Presbyterian, Methodists, Pentecostal Churches and indeed the entire church of God supported and prayed for his emergence as the Governor of Imo State.

Earlier in the service, the Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Rt. Revd. Chukwuma Chinekezi Oparah, offered special prayers to the Governor Elect and his team, reassuring his confidence that the incoming administration will be a government of the People. The Bishop urged the Governor Elect to pay more attention to the masses, the pensioners, civil servants, teachers and the downtrodden in the society, noting that the church will continue to pray for the success of his administration.

Significantly, the Governor Elect led the Church in the closing prayers after procession, as directed by the Bishop.
