AS ITF COMMENCE TRAINING OF 300 IMO YOUTHS
The Special Assistant to The Governor of Imo State on Youth Affairs , Engr Rex Okoro said That Governor Emeka Ihedioh’s administration would remain undaunted to stem the tide of youth unemployment.
Okoro added that the government has put in place initiatives to boost the employability of youths as part of its efforts to create job opportunities.
The Fomer IMSU SUG President spoke in Owerri at Ezumezu Ikemba Auditorium during the Flag off of The 2019 National Industrial Skill Development Programme For 300 Imo Youths
He said the government would not rest until youth unemployment is reduced to the barest minimum, assuring the youths that the Rebuild Imo administration would implement policies and programmes aimed at decimating poverty and unemployment.
He urged the youths to explore the existing initiatives put in place, saying within the limits of available resources, the government would keep placing a premium on youth development.
He However Advice participant to make good of the opportunity to acquire basic skills that will impact positively in their lives and in turn make them employers of labour.
“The training will help to tackle the worrisome issue of unemployment and youths restiveness in the country. It would also help them to be self-reliant and not depend on white collar jobs,” He added
