Avutu Poultry, Abadaba Lake to receive immediate attention

—I will make Ihitte Uboma the food basket of Imo- Ihedioha

The Imo PDP Campaign Train was in Ihitte Uboma and Obowo Local Government Areas yesterday. The campaign train first visited Ihitte Uboma Local Government before heading to Obowo to meet with the people.

At various points of engagement, His Excellency, the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, sustained his message of good governance, due process, equity, justice, rule of law, restoration of law and order and general development.

Among other things said, Ihedioha identified Ihitte Uboma as a major producer of food and agricultural products. He promised to make the LGA the “Food Basket of Imo State” when elected as the State Governor. He reminded them of his contribution in the LGA despite not representing them in the House of Representatives, noting that the 5.2 Billion Isinweke Onicha Uboma-Imo River Road of over 16 Kilometers, which He facilitated in the LGA was his first project as the Deputy Speaker. He stressed that He is not from Ihitte Uboma but at that time He felt the people of the area needed the road to transport their agricultural products, hence it became imperative to do it.

In Obowo, His Excellency reiterated his vow to revive the comatose Avutu Poultry in the Local Government Area, in the belief that it will enhance the food and health needs of Imo people as well as improve the Internally generated revenue (IGR) of the State.

He also restated his resolve to make the famous Abadaba Lake in Obowo LGA a national and international tourist centre by developing it and modernizing it with appropriate equipment and infrastructure, with the aim of making the state economic viable.

On roads, He promised to give due attention to the rural roads in the area in other to encourage rural development which is one of the cardinal points of his Manifesto.

The PDP delegation was led by the State Chairman of the PDP and the Campaign Council Chairman, Chief Barr. Charles Ezekwem. The train also had other leaders and stakeholders of the party in the State.
